for years now , i have been trying to develop  a set of cultural  events to go with the flavor of our restaurant. From the turkish belly to the the recent milonga ( Tango ,thanks to Edwin Roa) these  innovations have been well received by the public .

<>The next big events are;

<> a Belly dancing Extravaganza on dec 1rst at 7pm and 8.30pm  with the three top dancer in Charlottesville.  Amalia , a Phd in pathology, Alexandra Snyder belly dancing teachr @ ACAC and their guest from Iran Nika.  Their remarkable interpretation of Raks sharki ( authentic Bellydancing )   will attract a alot  of connaisseurs. the  evening promises to be incredible.

dec 8  at 7.00pm the superb jazz music Of Hod O’brien on piano and Royce Campbell on guitar. these are for those who do not know them 2 ( two ) giants of jazz who do not need any introduction. it is real magic when these two guys get together . words  cannot describe  high caliber of music that comes out their instruments . it is  for real jazz lovers and if you are not a jazz afficionado ,once you hear them play  you will be converted. it is a promise.

minimum what?

<>What is all this noise about raising the minimum wage . Here in Charlottesville va , we seem to be way ahead of the rest of the country by the wages we pay to our employes. The city council aware of the rising cost of living vote d a living wage to be mandatory in charlottesville and all the small businesses complied . the $8.00 an hour  was accepted. by the community @ large. The big corporations involved in the food business are not too happy with that change  as it is reflected  in the wages paid in the county. the fats ( sorry i meant fast ) food chains,  provider of “healthy and wonderful meals” seem to perpetuate  in other part of Virginia this habit of paying their personnel   low wages to be able to offer food at low prices to the public if you want to call that food. In charlottesville there is a very small group of restauranteurs who work hard @ giving the public great food .  Their prices are reasonnable if you take into account the quality and freshness of their product. they are part of what this city a world class city. let’s not take them for granted.
